It is about darned time! We have had a bit of a situation going on for a while now. See, your Great Grandma Maya (GMaya) made you the sweetest poncho, but it didn't fit over your great big giant head. GMaya had several reasonable-sounding plans for altering the critical point fairly easily, but thinking through each we imagined ourselves destroying the garment by accident, and frankly were a little nervous about taking the shears with novice hands.

In the end simplicity was the key, and Tree made a delicate slit down the back, enough to get your noggin through, and did a little detail work to make sure it would remain delicate.

So, we can finally deck you out in GMaya's poncho, and the hat too, although your mom's hat is pretty much your favorite hat and the only one you were ready to be photographed in, so there you have it.

Merry Christmas Maya, from your Great Grandma Maya, who was really nice for making you such a sweet poncho. If you weren't planning on rolling around in the sand down at the park this morning, we'd show it off to all those other plain poncho-less kids, but for now we'll just let you wear it with your favorite 'aat' around the house this morning. Thanks GMaya!
