Ho Ho Ho, Merrrrrrrry Christmas!

What a holiday season! Still going on, really, as we're in Orlando for one more night, and even after we get home there are gift cards to go spend!
From Christmas08

We had a great Christmas with you. First off, Christmas Eve. We went to Grammy and Grampy's, and had dinner and opened presents. They treated you VERY well, with a dolly and a robot puppy and more and more. The highlight, though, has to be this puppet theater and a couple puppets. You even got excited tonight when I reminded you that we expected a puppet show when we get back to Chicago tomorrow.

We also opened your present from Aunt Heidi there - Hungry Hungry Hippos! Here is a great shot of you cheating at it. You don't actually play this game, at least not yet, but you sure do love cheating at it!

Then it was time to go home, go to beddy, and get ready for Santa! You remembered Santa from last year, but this year was about 20,000% more fun. Here is the first shot - Santa brought you an awesome rocket ship, and you walked downstairs and made a beeline to it.

Look at all that other killer stuff under the tree - I think if Santa brought you that one rocket ship, you would have been very happy. But you must have been very good, or at least you fooled the Old Man, for he was very good to you this year. Anyway, so you went to the rocket ship, played with the astronauts and the space dog and the alien, and were very impressed. Then I had to remind you to look around a little bit...

LIGHTNING MCQUEEN!!! Actually, you call him Lightning The Queen. By the expression on your face, I'm guessing you like him. Then there was all the other stuff.

Paints, books, cars, a bunny towel, I can't even keep track of it all. But that wasn't it!! Oh no, he also filled the stocking quite well. You are very good at receiving gifts, look at how excited you are by the new toothbrush.

Ok, maybe because it was a Wall-E toothbrush, but still - that's a pretty strong reaction to a toothbrush. Other stuff too, more books and M&M's (Santa knows you pretty well), and even a slinky. You loved your slinky in California, but there we didn't have any stairs! Here in Chicago you do, and you wasted no time in checking out the slinky action.

But then it was time to head back to the main events, that rocket ship and the Backyardigans pirate ship, which is really a bath toy.

And let's face it, is there anything more fun than combining space ships and pirates? No, I think not.

And let's not forget the big girl beddy. In memory of your Great Grandma Maya, and aided by Grandma Suzanne and Grandpa Dale, may I present Maya's new Big Girl Bedroom...

After all that excitement, we reached our inevitable conclusion...

Oh what an amazing Christmas! Later that day, after also unboxing the Wii (and doing some boxing), it was time to head to Orlando to see Grandma Suzanne and Grandpa Dale. But that will be another post, because we have had a BUSY few days down here! However, let me just say... It is wonderful that you had a white Christmas, so Santa was able to land his sleigh (in our front yard, as you insisted our roof is too steep). But still, 80 degrees and Florida sunshine is ok with all of us too!
