Did you say Christmas Lights?

A picture is worth a hundred thousand little lights...

After dinner last night (at which you refused Momma's delicious roast chicken and potatoes and beans but double-spoon attacked the Cheerios) you and your mom really wanted to get in the car and drive to some lights. Given it was really the last night to do so, and how into them you've been, I agreed. The neighbor lady who takes care of Rudolph the Christmas Dog across the street had tipped us off to Eucalyptus Avenue in San Carlos. Why would we drive several miles to walk down a two-block long street a few towns over? Well, rumor had it they had some very extravagant lights....

Lights, you could say, requiring sunglasses in some sections and sunscreen probably wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Needless to say, for the forftieth time that day you were very excited.

You met LOTS of "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, He's Made of Light". You were pretty insistent on giving this one a lollipop.

You and yer dad got to do a self-portrait.

And we saw a few lights.

That wasn't the kicker though... Oh no. The residents of the house above had actually gone much further, and in fact invested in a sort of sled hill, made of snow (shaved ice) that the kids could walk through, run in, throw snowballs in, and otherwise get very cold and wet. So technically, this was your first experience with snow.

I think you liked it, but first you had to come to grips with the fact that it was much colder than you expected.

You really liked walking in it. Not so much jumping, dancing, or running, but you definitely liked walking.

You even even forgot about the lights completely, just for a little while.

You got to meet The Grinch, or in fact about 35 Grinches in one yard!

You had a really good time. We escaped without permanent retinal damage, and it was a great nightcap on the whole Christmas day.

Finally, a night of sleeping in your Big Girl Bed where putting you down was no problem. In fact, you were asleep before your mom tucked you in. I bet you didn't count sheep, last night, or if you did they looked a lot like this.
