Maya's New Boots

Well we finally caved. There haven't been any Christmas presents opened early in this house, but then the rain came. See, you didn't really have any wet weather shoes, so on a rainy day this week, your momma let you open up one of your presents, which just happened to be from your Grammy and Grampy Hines...

Oh, those are some sweet boots! You have been wearing them around quite a bit since then, even when it isn't raining! Then you and your momma made up some reindeer antlers for you, and you've been wearing those around a lot too...

Well, today you got those two things going on at the same time, and then added your fairy wings and skirt, and got to run around outside. The results, well, they speak for themselves.


Sweet outfit! And really nice antlers, those things look just like Rudolph's...

Then you got hold of a salad spoon, and I think it goes a long way to bringing the whole outfit together.


How cute is our little Maya? Pretty darned cute.


This morning you put on your boots by yourself, which means you got them on the wrong feet, then you put on your cowgirl hat and a nice necklace. This is you, hanging out just full of class this morning before I went to work. You'll note the nightgown on top of the jammies. You have to wear your nightgown, it is absolutely not an option. It says 'Maya' on it, and has a lady on it, and the lady has a tail because she's a mermaid and she swims under water with the fishies. You tell us this every time you wear it, which is several times per day. I don't know if you remember your cousins Emma and Ella both have one just like this, but it has been the gift that keeps on giving. Except when your momma has to wash it, and then we get lots of grief because you have to go for hours without it. Poor Maya!

And today, you got a package from your Grandma Maya! And it had a monkey in it! We let you have the monkey right away, and you and the monkey are making good friends. We don't know if your monkey is a boy or a girl monkey yet, and it doesn't have a name either so we'll just keep calling it your new white monkey.

I was trying to take your picture with the monkey, and you got hold of my little camera, and took some pictures of me! Hey, you're not too bad at this! I actually like this picture, you do nice work.

Anyway, your mom took a bunch of pictures today and they turned out really nice, so I put a bunch of them up on the Picasa site. Click the link below to go check out the album... Nice antlers! Nice wings and skirt! And totally nice boots! We're real excited about Christmas around here. Under the tree is pretty well full of presents, and we've gotten lots of nice holiday cards from our friends and family. You got a Grinch card today, and of course you love it as you watch the Grinch at least 5 times a day. Ok, maybe not that much, but it seems like it. You sure do love that show. I can't wait till this weekend, when we can start watching A Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation nonstop. That's how daddy knows it is almost time for Santa.
