Let's talk about this crayon thing. You cannot leave the wrapper on a crayon. It simply must come off. Now. Usually in tiny little pieces.
We're used to you having the attention span of a gnat, and sticking with one activity for about 0.003 seconds before moving onto the next one. But today, when given a clear shot at a double-handful of crayons and enough time to really get going, you spent a long long long time on our beddy, stripping a full set of crayons one square millimeter of paper at a time.
As soon as the paper is off the crayon, it is utterly forgotten, cast away as an afterthought, and you pay no attention to the shards whatsoever. And once the crayon is bare, you move to the next.
Going, going, going, going, with total focus and commitment. For this I'm proud of you. We'll be finding little mementos of this project for a while, I suspect, but it is worth it knowing you're learning, um, well, some type of valuable skill. Perhaps you are showing your potential in your true calling.
I'm not sure if that calling would be described more as waste creation or label removal, but either way I think you're going to be very good at it, and your mother and I support you 100%.
Now, what happens when you go to a friend's place and go to town on their crayons? Oh, Maya!
You have all kinds of new library books, and it never ceases to amaze me how you can have a whole book down within 2 or 3 readings, but you can also recall (usually verbally) books you haven't seen for months. This usually manifests itself with you belting out lines from books in your crib when you are supposed to be sleeping, and sometimes goes on to cover entire storylines. Oh, and remind me to tell you all about the Grinch, you are seriously in love with that show. Mommy says you watched it 342 times today, and every time she turned the TV off you threatened her with a spoon. You cry during the commercials if we don't fast-forward them quickly enough. And you think his dog is absolutely hilarious. I honestly think we're in danger of wearing out those sectors on the TiVo's hard drive, the way you could kill a cassette tape by listening to it too much. You really like the Grinch.
