Yesterday, though, the sun actually came out for a little while and there was no snow on the ground! Wow. So even though it was 20 degrees, we bundled up and went for a ride on your trike. You are a very strong rider, we went about 6 blocks! When we were close to home, you still wanted to ride into the backyard and play. I had my doubts. When we got to our house, though, you announced you were riding right up to the door and getting some hot chocolate. Yeah, it's pretty cold... It was a fun ride though. We saw a Daddy Cardinal, all bright red, and he sang to you and you sang back to him. And we practiced crossing the street. It was a great ride!
So, hot chocolate we had. Or, as your mom accurately put it on the phone, "Maya ate the marshmallows out of it with a spoon and left the rest for you to throw away later." Exactly, mom, that's what having hot chocolate means! Then it was time for some camping. Not outside, of course, but while mom's gone we've pitched a tent in the living room. This, by the way, is your "camping dress". It isn't a dress and I don't know what it has to do with camping, but that's what you call it and that's what you'll wear when spending significant time in the tent darnit!
While I tried to distract you with the Aerial DVD, there was laundry to be done. When I got back upstairs from putting some in, there was a pajama bug running around! This pajama bug scared me - I had to run away from it!
No escape, though, the pajama bug kept chasing and chasing. When I finally got tired of running and cowered in the corner, the pajama bug announced that it was a friendly pajama bug, and just wanted to play in Maya's tent, so it was all fine after that - whew!
Today it is gray again, and the snow is back. Sweeeeet. Hence not leaving the house but for the bare necessities, and so we needed to find some things to do. We sat at the table making crafts for a while, we ended up with this little fish.
Would you believe its name is "Maya the Fish"? How creative! And you and Maya the fish talk to each other, just the way that fishies do (by opening and closing their mouths silently of course!)...
The climax, though, was after your tubby tonight (with bubbles, natch). We took Foofa, Maya The Bear, and Domo out for ice cream! You were nice enough to share with them. Afterwards, we came upstairs to watch something before bed. You picked Little Bear. As you currently do with any show, you danced to the opening theme ("Little Bear is a slow dance like Oswald is, Dad.") Only this time, you announced that "we're all going to dance to Little Bear" - so here you are dancing with Foofa, Domo, and Maya the Bear... Keeping an eye on the TV of course, so you don't miss any of the show when the music stops.
