Sledding Movie Madness

More movies! Three from sledding today with your cousins. First off, the whole Leonard clan arrived today in a flurry of duffel bags, coats, and kids. It was like several tornadoes were set loose at once, with all of them moving in different but intersecting directions.

Downstairs - twins, playing with some toys that should seem very familiar to them, being all cute and fun and engaging, but completely different.

Upstairs, games and games and more games, with the big cousins and you, well, to be perfectly honest you were a little brat for most of the day but we love you anyway.

Turn a corner, find a kid. In this case Jack, playing on the stairwell perfectly content and happy.

And then, time for sledding! It wasn't your first trip sledding, but it was a biggie. A big hill anyway... So big that I had to carry you up several times. Ooops, I just got pwned by my own kid! Next time, you can carry *me* up the dang hill! View from the top...

Actually looks more impressive than it really is, this being Illinois and all, but still a pretty good drop. May also have noticed quite a bit of dirt peeking through the snow. That hill was pretty well sledded out. So after several runs, a new game was designed. Spin Kid Around - it was a huge hit! Here are Uncle Sean and Owen demonstrating for us.

After about 300,000 times on the Spin-A-Kid, we were all ready to leave. All of us, that is, but you. Always ready for one more ride...

Anyway, without further ado, here is the media extravaganza...

First off, just the two of us on a run down the hill. Exciting as we cross the gigantic seam of dirt in the middle of the hill!

Next, you coming down with Emma, the two of you working on your spin moves.

And finally, the Spin The Kid game as I saw it... Kind of a long video, but you sure liked that game.

Amazingly, Aunt Heidi and Uncle Sean ran back to the city just in time to take in a hockey game with Emma and Owen, how is it possible for them to have so much energy? Anyway, we also came home to discover that Emma and Owen cleaned up your room and the basement! Well you helped too, at least according to you... Those cousins of yours are top notch.

All in all, what a great holiday weekend! SO nice to see the cousins, and yes Heidi one day you and I will have to catch up as brother and sister. But to see you kids play and play hard all day was really something special. Grandma Suzanne really came through getting snacks and lunch together for all of us, and leaving the kitchen cleaner than she found it! And Grandpa Dale managed to avoid the chaos AND score points by getting cars washed and cleaned. What a big day!!
