Excited and frightened. Proud and cautious. A real turning point, for sure... Little Maya Ellen is mobile! Well, almost. You crawled today!3 crawls, the first time. Then I saw you do it once. Then your enormous head got to be too much for you and you did a cute little face plant. But you are trying. And you're learning fast.
Time to childproof in earnest! Cabinets and drawers getting the lock-down. You have already demonstrated your eagerness to chew on power cords, so those will have to be protected too.
I mean, don't you look like you are in search of trouble right off the bat? A shelf to pull yourself up on (and pull over onto yourself). An electrical outlet to test out with your tongue. Chemicals and cleaners and solvents in arms reach! Who pray tell will save the children!!! Don't worry honey, we will take immediate action and do our best to keep you safe.
After all, it is not much to ask to do for someone who is so DAMN CUTE!! I mean, seriously, look at you.So, I just wanted to mark the momentus occasion with a rare timely entry. You also doubled your consonant vocabulary today! Not only can you say 'ma ma' (well, mah-mah-mah-mah-mah-mah), but now you can say 'buh' too! You are picking this language thing up pretty quickly also...
We are proud, little Maya. A little frightened but proud. Welcome to the world of both motion and language. We are sure you will work hard to perfect both of them in the months to come!
