The Big Trees

Yay, Grammy and Grampy and Aunt Gina are here, and today we went up to San Mateo County Memorial Park. That's a big name for a relatively small park, but a small park containing some big big trees. We took you up there once a couple months ago, do you remember that?

Your momma and Grampy give some perspective to the size of these monsters.

And we went back to The Oldest Tree, dating back 1600 years and making a great photo opportunity. You, however, were more focused on collecting sticks and had not much patience for pictures.

Fortunately, we managed to snap one family shot (thanks Grampy!) before we set you loose and let you run around.

You got to sit on a bench with a table, both being made of course from a very old and large tree.

You and momma got to climb around in the Tunnel Tree for a little bit.

And this is actually the business end of that tree, with Grammy and Grampy and Aunt Gina looking for you to come out of the window on the side. Cool trunk and roots, huh?

This thing is massive...

And by that I mean, very seriously enormous.

The whole time, you were out running around having a very good time, and having a very good time out running around.

It was real fun to take Grammy and Grampy to see the big trees, and of course they are quite excited to see you. Aunt Gina reminded us tonight that the last time they saw you, the cartoon you liked the most was called the "WakkaGardeeans" instead of the Backyardigans. Anyway, here you are almost kind of posing with Grammy and Grampy.

Another great thing about that park, you don't have to walk very far from where you park to see some really big ones.

You have been having such a good time with Grammy and Grampy here, and you sure love Aunt Gina. We even went to a restaurant tonight! Unfortunately, you missed the first part on account of falling asleep in the car - is that a sign that naps may return, or did we just wear you out today? Please feel free to nap again tomorrow!
