A Scooter, A Car, a School

Yesterday before Bart and Edwin came down here, your mom went to the City for a haircut, and you and I took off to play with the RC car and ride your scooter. You're getting better on the scooter every time you ride it!

Here you are styling the scooter with your Red Helmet. You like putting the helmet on now, and you look like you're starting to dig the scooter!

After you got tired of the scooter, it was time to break out the car. We haven't played with the car for a while, but the biggest F1 race of the season (Monaco) and the biggest US non-Nascar race of the season (Indy) are both this weekend, so it sounded like a good time to play with Racecar.

Today I taught you how to make Racecar go. You were absolutely uninterested in steering or reverse, just straight ahead as fast as he'd go. And then you'd chase after him, until he crashed or got stuck.

After a while, you started getting the hang of squeezing the trigger and making him go fast. We were cruising him all over the school!

Soon, I took over on the controls and you and Racecar chased each other all the way around the school. First he would lead, then you would lead.

Then it was time for some old fashioned playground fun. You went to your counter. This is what happens if someone says "Could I get some chips and guacamole please?" after you ask "May I help you??" That's what they get, at least the pretend version! As you are pouring out the chips and guacamole, you usually ask if you can get them some salsa also.

It was almost lunchtime, which made it time to go home. Before we left you wanted to swing, but the only swings they have at the school are big girl swings. Check you out, being careful and holding onto the big girl swing!

Then, time to go. We were all the way across the school, so you got to ride the scooter back to the car. This time sans helmet, but it is ok as you were VERY careful.

After we got home, it took me another 20 minutes to get you out of the car. You love driving, even if the car isn't actually going anywhere. When Bart and Edwin and I got in the car later to go to lunch, we found that pretty much every button in the car was pressed. Wipers, lights, radio, everything. You are a busy little monkey!

More good times! So that was Saturday. Whew... Busy holiday weekend, and we're going to Chicago next week. Now Mom is cooking some delicious dinner, so I'm going to go help get the table ready. More to come soon!
